♾️ Inflection AI releases new AI model: Is this the end of Meta and Google’s models?

Just because the constant Headlines are the classic household names, doesn’t mean there aren’t some powerful underdogs working steadily to fight for the crown. Founded by LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman and DeepMind cofounder Mustafa Suleyman, Inflection AI just announced Inflection-2, a new AI model that it claims is “the best model in the world for its compute class and the second most capable LLM in the world today.“

These massive claims are backed up by Inflection’s data. Inflection-2 outscored Meta’s LLaMA 2 and Google’s PaLM 2 on various benchmarks, according to the company. It also did nearly as well as OpenAI’s GPT-4 on some tasks.

⭐️Q Star: The Reason Altman was Booted 👀 

The dramatic ousting of Sam Altman from his Company OpenAI, followed by his royal return really had everyone on the edge of their seats…But it did make you wonder.. why the sudden ejection from the company that he created?

New reports claim that researchers at OpenAI warned the company’s board of an AI discovery so powerful that it could “threaten humanity.“

The reports claim that the letter that revealed this information was one of the key factors that led to CEO Sam Altman’s firing. Employees who wrote the letter reportedly feared that the company would attempt to commercialize this technological breakthrough before fully understanding the consequences.

The project at the center of the controversy is called Q* (pronounced Q-Star), a discovery that could lead to artificial general intelligence (AGI)! 🚀 

What is AGI?

— AGI refers to software with human-like cognitive abilities, capable of learning and evolving across nearly all domains, not limited to specific tasks. It's anticipated to outperform humans in many economically valuable works. —

These reports could be in line with a recent statement from Sam Altman where he said: “Four times now in the history of OpenAI, the most recent time was just in the last couple weeks, I've gotten to be in the room, when we sort of push the veil of ignorance back and the frontier of discovery forward, and getting to do that is the professional honor of a lifetime.”
