📣 News: The End of ChatGPT 🤖 

Looks like ChatGPT and OpenAI are about to be humbled — at least that’s what Google Deepmind’s CEO thinks.

Demis Hassabis, cofounder and CEO of DeepMind (Google’s AI lab), says they are working on an AI system called Gemini, that will be more advanced compared to the one behind OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Gemini — still under development — is a large language model similar to GPT-4, but unlike GPT-4, it will feature new capabilities such as planning and problem solving.

DeepMind is the same lab that created AlphaGo, an AI program that was able to beat the world champion of the board game “Go” in 2016. The same techniques will be used to make Gemini better than other AI models

What Executives really care about.

Step aside cloud computing, because AI is the new sheriff in town when it comes to tech spending at top US companies.

At least according to the latest survey from CNBC’s Technology Executive Council. Nearly 47% of executives across the economy are saying that AI is their top priority for tech spending over the next year.

Key highlights from the survey:

  • The pressure to cut costs in tech due to fears of recession went down from 30% to 16% from 2022-2023. 

  • Almost 66% of the respondents say their AI investments are accelerating.

  • 47% said they think AI technologies will create more jobs than they destroy whereas 26% said it will destroy more jobs than it creates, while an equal 26% said it is too soon to know.
