Apple’s famous line signifying the announcement of a new technology has us sitting on the edge of our seats in anticipation.

The Vision Pro.

Apple’s new headset will operate on VisionOS - its new operating system - and will work with existing iOS and iPad apps. The new OS is created specifically for spatial computing — the blend of digital content into real space.

Vision Pro is controlled through hand gestures, eye movements and your voice (parts of it assisted by AI). You can use apps, change their size, capture photos and videos and more.

Vision Pro will be released early next year in the US for $3500. At first glance this seems wildly expensive. but when you think about the fact that you can have as many 4K screens as you want, + an indoor movie theater…

AR/VR headsets have been around for a while (think Oculus), but the category has yet to reach mainstream status. With the Vision Pro, Apple will hope to take AR/VR mainstream, just as it did with tablets and smart watches a few years ago.

Apple also announced AI upgrades to existing products, like:

• Smart autocorrect that can mimic the way you talk.

• New operating systems.

• Phone upgrades.

• App upgrades.
